Safege's Research and Development activities take three forms :
| 1. | | Monitoring of regulatory and technological developments, an activity which enables us to alert our municipal clients to changes likely to affect them so that they are not caught out by new legal and administrative requirements, |
| 2. | | Improvement of engineering methods and tools (method of observed rainfall events, method for assessing and managing underground assets, method for predicting bathing water quality, Piccolo water distribution modelling system, etc.), often at the request of the French Water Agencies, |
| 3. | | Research for SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT companies (e.g. our work on measuring a community's environmental performance), including treatment plant specialists, Degrémont, and operators, Lyonnaise des Eaux and Sita. Safege also provides services for SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT through its International Center for Applied Hydroinformatics Research (CIRAH), set up in 2008. | A partner of the major research institutions in its field, Safege : -
participates in the ERINOH programme to investigate internal erosion resistance mechanisms in dams and dykes, a project sponsored by the civil engineering research institutions, IREX and RGC&U, and the French national research agency, ANR; -
is a member of the association of French water professionals, ASTEE; -
works with : Cemagref, the French institute dedicated to targeted research in the area of agricultural and environmental engineering; Insa Lyon, the prestigious multi-disciplinary international engineering university; the CFBR (French Dam and Reservoir Committee); and the state research organisation, LCPC (Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées). | | |
