TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE CHAD MINISTRY FOR WATER

Under the "Access to Drinking Water and Sector Policy Support" programme implemented in Chad, Safege has provided a Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) to the country's Ministry of Environment and Water for the period 2006 – 2012.
The aim of the Programme is to fight rural poverty by improving access to clean water.

The CTA's duties include :

Provision of assistance to the Ministry and its technical departments :

Institutional support for the implementation of a water sector policy for semi-urban and rural areas,

Technical assistance to the Ministry on water infrastructure projects,

Programme coordination :

Assistance to the Ministry in coordinating the technical and financial aspects of the Programme,

Implementation of the following components : restructuring of the water sector, development of a National Water Quality Plan, capacity building for water sector players, etc.,

Technical assistance to the Contracting Authority,

Technical assistance to the Delegation of the European Commission to Chad.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE MINISTER OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT OF BURKINA FASO

In 2008, Safege was awarded the two-year contract financed by the European Commission to provide technical assistance to the Ministry's administrative and technical services in developing the road infrastructure sector and highway works policies financed under the 10th EDF (European Development Fund). Services provided were as follows :

detailed assessment of the situation and assistance in formulating an action plan,

assistance to the Ministry's Roads Directorate in the design, procurement, supervision and quality control process for the studies financed under the EDF,

assistance to the Roads Directorate in the design, procurement, supervision and contract administration process for the works contracts financed under the EDF,

assistance to the Roads Directorate in addressing the environmental impacts of EDF-financed projects.
