The EuroMed ‘Road, Rail and Urban Transport Project’, which is financed by the European Commission through the European Neighourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI), involves nine partner countries: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Lebanon and Libya.
This 36-month project, which kicked off at the end of 2011, is being implemented by a SAFEGE-led consortium including private companies and institutional partners on both sides of the Mediterranean.
The project, which aims to support the implementation of a Trans Mediterranean Transport Network by developing appropriate regulatory framework and operational conditions (harmonisation of cross-border legislation, regional cooperation, regulatory authority, professionalisation of the transport sector, multi-modal developments, etc.), adds a new dimension to SAFEGE’s business capability.
